Two non-fatal cases up state's virus total to 179
SANTA FE (AP) - Two more human cases of West Nile virus were reported Thursday, bringing the state's total to 179.
None of the new cases were fatal, and both cases involved mild symptoms, the state health department reported.
The latest cases involved a 6-year-old girl from Torrance County and a 57-year-old woman who lives in Bernalillo County.
The health department said the number of West Nile cases is expected to decrease once the weather turns cooler.
New Mexico has had four fatal cases of West Nile this year.

Kay, in a report to Congress, described evidence of a possible small-scale biological weapons effort, and said searchers had substantial evidence of an Iraqi push to boost the range of its ballistic missiles beyond prohibited ranges.

Probe into CIA agent's blown-cover expands
WASHINGTON (AP) - The federal investigation into the leak of a CIA officer's name expanded Thursday beyond the White House and the spy agency to other parts of the government with access to the officer's classified identity. The Justice Department sent "do not destroy" letters to the Defense and State departments requesting preservation of phone logs, e-mails and other documents that could become evidence in the inquiry, senior law enforcement officials said.
