In regards to Cali Garcia's letter about "politically incorrect" holidays, I just think that this is one of the most foolish, insensitive articles that I've ever read on the Daily Lobo. She must hate freedom because of her strong opposition to celebrating Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. What's so "politically incorrect" about an annual observance of all the brave people that bought our freedom with their blood in warfare? Furthermore, MLK Jr. wasn't just a minister; he was also an influential civil rights leader who received the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 35. What's wrong about observing his accomplishments? In conclusion, Garcia's remarks about these holidays reflect a deep ingratitude towards the accomplishments of MLK Jr. and all the troops that sacrificed their lives throughout the decades in the battlefield.
