Letter: Don't get pregnant until you get your degree

The children's chant, "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage," seems to be completely forgotten.

In a time when contraceptives and awareness programs are easily available, I am constantly shocked at the number of young adults having babies. I graduated from a small private school, and out of my graduating class of 27 seniors, eight of them already have one child.

Have we all forgotten how to be responsible? With all the resources available, why are so many of our peers having children before graduation?

Please, get your degree before having a baby.
