Letter: People seem to think sex is synonymous with love

Editor,

I completely agree with Katie Downey when she advises everyone to "get your degree before having a baby." I learned a wise proverb in high school: "A smart person makes his or her own mistakes, but a wise person learns from the mistakes of others."

Applying this to unplanned sex, I've learned to wait for Ms. Right from some mind-opening observations. For me, it's best to wait until I graduate with my bachelor's degree to get married and have children. Obviously, sex is something that should not be fooled around with.

Even though contraceptives and awareness programs are ubiquitous, I believe the problem of unplanned sex originates in the human soul. Many people falsely believe sex is synonymous with love, but true love is a daily sacrifice, not a physical passion. They have an emotional void that no religion, no philosophy and no amount of sex could ever fill. One solution is a complete, mental renewal offered by the Holy Bible.
