Letter: Summer tuition discount merely offsets price hike

Well, my 15-percent summer tuition discount equals all of $3.

A recent e-mail from the University states, "The 15 percent summer discount applies to main campus undergraduate and graduate courses, compared to their fall 2006 rates."

This sounds unethical to me. It's not 15 percent off regular summer tuition, as we were led to believe. Instead, the fall tuition rate hike has been applied to the summer session, and the discount merely offsets this hike.

I think we have been screwed again.
