Editor,
Not to be judgmental, but David Martinez's attitude toward creationism, as shown in his letter to the Daily Lobo on Monday, is analogous to that of the Pharisees toward Christ during the times of the Roman Empire.
Even though Christ did many awesome miracles, they stubbornly chose to ignore him. Similarly, Martinez has willfully chosen to ignore the evidence of creation, which is everywhere. God's fingerprints are found everywhere in nature. For instance, the DNA molecule is an intricate blueprint that could not have evolved. Also, the gravitational system of forces that hold our solar system in place could not have evolved.
I cannot and will not believe in the theory of evolution, because it completely denies the existence of a supreme intelligence. I know there is a God, because without his divine intervention, I would certainly be in a mental hospital by now.
It's quite difficult for me to believe that the intricate layers of colors embedded in the Grand Canyon were made by a random meteorite, as Martinez implied. Only a tremendous amount of water could have possibly carved out this natural wonder. As a matter of fact, Noah's Ark is still perched on Mount Ararat in Turkey.
Science is not absolute, and the fallacious theory of evolution is not absolute. Science is merely man's collective, organized knowledge about God's creation, based on experimentation and observation. Claiming that evolution occurred is analogous to claiming that a car randomly evolved. But, as an engineering student, I know that an extensive design process is required for the production of a car.

Furthermore, many scientific articles supporting evolution were written by agnostic people who willfully rejected their creator. Even though their articles seem very convincing, they do not contain the absolute truth about life on Earth. Each living creature was created with its own genetic composition, anatomy and physiology.
