Letter: War on terrorism a bad public relations campaign

Editor,

The war on terror is one of the greatest public relations campaigns in history. All one can really do is sit back and enjoy the revolting show. I have a very low suspension of disbelief.

Have you ever really seen a real terrorist?

I will never understand why Rep. Heather Wilson believes that Saddam Hussein's invasion and occupation of Kuwait, his use of chemical weapons like white phosphorous on civilians, his use of torture and secret police, his killing of more than 150,000 Iraqis and his hatred of al-Qaida and Iran were bad, but believes that Bush's invasion and occupation of Iraq, his use of chemical weapons like white phosphorous on civilians, his use of torture and secret police, his killing of more than 150,000 Iraqis and his hatred of al-Qaida and Iran are good?

U.S. forces need additional troops to secure the province of Al Anbar in western Iraq. NATO forces need additional troops to fight the Taliban in southern Afghanistan. Where will the troops come from for wars with Iran, Sudan and Somalia? Does anyone feel a very cold draft?
