My infatuation with French food grows every time I discover a place that offers it.
When I saw La Provence take over Stella Blue, I was thrilled to find out it was a French country-style restaurant that was affordable, delicious and two minutes from campus.
The wine menu was extensive with various white, red and rose wines from France. The restaurant offers wine by the glass for $4 to $12 and by the bottle for $18 to $150. It has a wine bar, too.

For breakfast, the breakfast crepe took the cake. Full of apple, pecans and cherries, it was sweet and decadent for $6.50.
The lunch favorite seemed to be the salad Nicoise. It was sold out an hour into lunch. It includes ahi tuna, tomato, green beans, parmesan and basil pesto. The crepe Forestiäre was my absolute favorite - rich with wild rice, cream, mushrooms and chicken. It was served with warm bread and a side salad for $8.50.
While French food may not appeal to you, don't rule out La Provence. It has cheeseburgers made with all-natural beef, lettuce, mayonnaise and Gruyere or cheddar cheese served with fries for $7.50.
La Provence has the potential to be a student hot spot over the next semester. With good food, wine, beer and coffee until 10 p.m. or later, this is a college kid's dream.
Fortunately for us, La Provence made it perfect by adding wireless Internet. From breakfast to wine, La Provence serves French food that can be appealing to everyone at
anytime.
