Program leaves students with unfulfilled promises

Editor,

I am a graduate student enrolled in the Executive MBA (EMBA) program in the Robert O. Anderson Schools of Management. This program is designed for professionals who cannot attend classes at regular school hours. For this convenience, students pay more than $500 per credit hour.

Students are promised excellent service by the Management Development Center (MDC) while it is recruiting. Unfortunately, very few of us receive this excellent service. My e-mails and phone messages are ignored, sometimes for months. For more than the past two years, I have heard numerous excuses from the people in the office of the MDC, none of which are convincing.

I am writing this letter to get the word out to potential students of the EMBA program. They should be very cautious before making any decisions about this particular program. What is promised before recruitment is not necessarily delivered once you become a student. They are violating the basic management principles that are being taught in the program.
