Having computer pods at students' disposal is one of my favorite things about our campus. These pods and ITS stations have helped me print papers, study and e-mail professors, among other things.
I am used to the line that awaits me through the front door of the Lobo Lab in the SUB, though sometimes students' personal use of the computers is not
respectful toward other students. When I got out of a class early before a psychology test, I decided to drop by the SUB to refresh my memory and take a quiz or two before class. I got to the line and decided to count how many students were using computers to check their MySpace accounts. From just the students facing the back in the first three rows, I counted eight. A lot of times, I usually give up on the line because I get frustrated with the lack of maturity and the use of MySpace on the
computers.
Sure, MySpace may be important to some, but when people need the school computers for school-related material, MySpace can wait. Web sites like

MySpace.com and Facebook.com should not be allowed in the pods during main school hours, or maybe just in certain labs. For the sake of students who actually need computers for school-related business, be respectful, and please log out of your MySpace account.
