Editor,
I want to commend you and thank you for putting two very important articles on the front page of the Daily Lobo on Monday. It is extremely important that Darfur stays on our minds and hearts and that it is not forgotten, ignored or downplayed. Page One articles to remind us and update us are a vital service. We all cannot be too distracted by pocketbook issues to forget life-and-death issues. We must remind President Obama of his election promises concerning Darfur, and we must hold him to them.
Likewise, I am very grateful you are also covering the Invisible Children rally. The suffering in Uganda and Central Africa has gone on too long and has been ignored too long. Please continue to update your readers on the happenings over there so we can work together to bring an end to the violence.
Finally, thank you to all the organizations that pitched in together to make both of these events happen. As a protester, I know there are many sacrifices of time and energy to be made, so I just want to give a shout out to all the students, faculty, staff and other supporters out there. Keep it up.
