The UNM Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences wants you to stretch your vocal cords. The department celebrates this international day of voice by offering vocal warm-ups and chair massages. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Speech & Hearing Science Clinic at 1700 Lomas Blvd. N.E., Suite 1300.

This week’s poetry reading at the UNM Bookstore features Albuquerque poet laureate Hakim Bellamy, along with UNM faculty and students. The reading runs from noon to 1 p.m. at the Bookstore.
This massive celebration of international-student groups features food, music and live performances. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along the Cornell Mall, culminates with a fashion show at 7 p.m. in SUB Ballroom C.
UNI COOKING DEMONSTRATION
If you want free food and to learn how to make yourself better food, check out this cooking demonstration in the SUB on Friday. It’s one in a series of Uni Nights, which always have T-shirt, button and food giveaways. It starts at 8 p.m. in the SUB atrium.
UNM’s biggest music performance is usually pretty tame, but wild enough for you to get down. The headlining act is Breathe Carolina, a pop-y electronic band. The event runs from 2 to 9 p.m. on Johnson Field and also features local bands ¡Revíva! and The Lymbs as well as Murs.
