This week has some awesome cultural events that you won’t find anywhere but New Mexico. Remember to have a safe and happy holiday season.

Botanic Garden
Wednesday

Visit the Botanic Garden’s Education Building at 6 p.m. for a two-hour craft building session. The Garden will provide materials to make beautiful nature-inspired gifts for the holiday season. The Botanic Garden is located at 2601 Central Ave. N.W. All ages are welcome.

Locomotive Society
Thursday

The New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Rail Road Historical Society has rolled into Albuquerque to share the story of the Tender, a steam locomotive the group has been rebuilding for several years. Check out the locomotive and hear from the people who rebuilt her from the ground up. The Tender will be on display at 1833 8th St. N.W from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All ages.

Sister Cities dance
Friday

About 80 dancers from Turkmenistan will team up with the Pueblo of Pojoaque Buffalo Dance Group and Hopi hoop dancer Nakotah LaRance in celebration of the sister city status that exists between Albuquerque and Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Dancers from the National Institute of Flamenco will also show their Spanish roots at this performance. The 6 p.m. event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located at 330 Tijeras Ave. N.W. All ages.

Twinkle Light Parade
Saturday

The largest parade in New Mexico will kick off at 5:15 p.m. and head west from the intersection of Central and Washington. The Twinkle Light Parade will feature about 100 floats, dancers, classic cars, live animals and marching bands. All ages.
