If the Affordable Textbook Act was passed and textbooks were free, would you still purchase a hard copy of the book from the bookstore?
Andres Reza, emergency medical services, junior
“No, if it was free I would never buy the hard copy, especially from the bookstore since they are ridiculously expensive.”
Eddie Estrada, biology, sophomore
“I would maybe rent a book at the bookstore, but that’s about it. It would be really convenient to actually have the hard copy of the book, but if it were free online there’s no reason to spend my money on what I’ll already have.”

Ryan Sims, mechanical engineering, senior
“I would probably still rent a book from Chegg, but not from the bookstore because compared to the prices online the bookstore overprices them.”
Avery Lopez, mechanical engineering, junior
“Yes, I would still buy the book from the bookstore. Hard copies are more reliable, especially with Lobo Wifi. And even during exams you have to have the hard copy if you wanted to be able to use it in an open-book test, so I would still have to buy the book anyway.”
