A pair of Lobos have joined the All-American squad for their work in the classroom.
Chris DeVito and relief pitcher Alex Estrella are two of three players in the Mountain West to receive the honor, Air Force’s Russell Williams received the nod as well.
Estrella has a 4.0 GPA while looking to achieve his master’s of business administration in UNM’s graduate program.
DeVito currently has a 3.52 GPA in New Mexico’s criminology program. The accolade comes just days after being appointed to first team all-conference for his performance on the field.
It is the first Academic All-American accolade for all three award winners out of the conference.
