Cops: assault, chicken breast throwing at SRC A UNM student reportedly battered his roommate in the common area of the Student Residence Complex on Feb. 3. According to the UNMPD report, the student threw a shoe and spat on the victim. The student proceeded to throw chicken breasts on the carpet, followed by a bottle of salsa, the report said. The UNMPD officer said he confirmed this when he saw “multiple food and beverage items” on the floor throughout the common room. According to the report, the alleged perpetrator was not present when the officer responded, and the alleged victim told police he did not want to press charges. He said he wanted a report filed so his roommate could be kicked out of the dorm. There was no further information at the time of the report.

$170 book stolen from Bookstore An unknown offender stole a textbook from the UNM Bookstore on Jan. 18. According to the UNMPD report, the man set off the security alarm, but was able to flee from the scene with the $170 textbook. Police were able to obtain photos of the man and the book, and those have been posted throughout the UNM police station. A video had not been obtained at the time of the report, and no further details were provided.
Editor’s note: This is in response to an online reader’s comment on the article “Erotic Fixation,” published in Thursday’s Daily Lobo. The article is about Sanctuary Above the Crypt, a local group that puts on fetish shows. The article featured a show in which performers faced their phobias.
He wanted to get in those pants UNMPD responded to a call about an unknown suspect rummaging through a pair of pants in an office at the UNM natatorium on Jan. 15. According to the report, the owner of the pants’ office mate spotted the suspect.
Cops: Travelstead Hall computers stolen At some point between Dec. 21 and Jan. 1, an unknown suspect entered a locked room in Travelstead Hall and stole UNM property. According to the UNMPD report, UNM staff is still working on the full inventory, but at the time staff members reported a Mac Book and two iMacs missing. Two UNMPD detectives collected fingerprints and took photographs at the scene. No further information was available at the time of the report.
