Professor Brian Soller has concluded that not all teen romances lead to happy endings. In his recent sociological study, Soller found that the discrepancy between ideal romantic relationships and real romantic relationships puts some female teens at higher risk for depression, he said.

New Subway Café will be first in New Mexico

A new Subway Café opening on Central Avenue will offer more to customers than the standard sandwich. Lethy Bernal, owner of the café, said the new business, which is planned to open Wednesday, will be a traditional Subway, but it will include a full coffee bar.

Man killed firing at SWAT

The Albuquerque Police Department said it deployed a SWAT team to the scene of Armand Martin’s shooting death because he refused to leave the house and posed a danger to others. An APD officer shot and killed Martin on Saturday evening after Martin barricaded himself inside his house.

UNM is conducting a nation-wide search for a new vice president for human resources. Search coordinator Lisa Marbury said the search committee recently approved the advertisement and position profile and will advertise the position for one month before beginning the selection process.
