Video shows Boyd was disoriented, not violent

Editor, I saw a video released by Bearing Arms this morning that is purported to show a justified shooting. I would like to suggest that you look at the video with some questions in mind before you watch.

Dr. Pegs Prescription

Lobo Letter

Let’s talk ice cream! In my younger days, Baskin Robbins was the place to go for delicious, high-quality ice cream. True, it cost a bit more than the local drugstore, but the difference was all in the taste, texture and smile on my face. The few extra cents back then was well worth it.

American change is inevitable, get over it

I was driving to class last week, and I pulled up behind a little white Nissan with bumper stickers plastered haphazardly all over the back of the car. As soon as my eyes focused, it was clear that the little guy crouched over the steering wheel had amassed the most disturbing collection of hateful bumper stickers I have ever seen.

If you own a cell phone, like 91 percent of all American adults, I don’t have to convince you of the benefits. Especially if you own a smart phone, you know how much easier it can make your life. In fact, calling it a phone is like calling Handel’s Messiah a song.

Letter: Cow's milk is not meant for human consumption

Editor, Cow’s milk is for baby cows, human milk is for baby humans. Animals in the wild do not drink the milk of a different kind of animal. No adult animal in the world drinks milk. Just as all animals are not alike, the milk from cows, goats, pigs and humans is not alike.

#RelationshipStatus: Let's talk about sex (if we have to)

“Eric broke up with you because you wouldn’t give him a blowjob?” I asked Ashley a few days ago in the gym. “He said that I couldn’t satisfy him physically and that he would just end up cheating on me if those needs were not met,” Ashley said. “So we broke up because I didn’t want to give him oral sex multiple times per week.” Is this what dating has come to? Are these our options with men: oral sex or GTFO?

Crimean dispute will fizzle, not flare

Lately, it seems that Ukraine can’t catch a break. The recent Russian invasion of the Crimean peninsula is merely the latest trial added to that country’s tribulations, which include a month of widespread clashes between the now-defunct pro-Russian government and the pro-European Union opposition.

Letter: One man's trash is another man's gold's baleful avatar

I thought we were friends. Allies, at least. When I sent you a letter about the dangers of bronze wolf statues, you printed it. When I sent you a letter about the dangers of people wearing gang colors such as red and blue, you printed it. When I sent you a box of my hair and fingernail clippings and some poems I wrote, you didn’t immediately file a restraining order. Later you did, yes, but you waited a while, as if unsure of your own feelings, which I’m sure you were.

It’s that time of the year again. Winter turns to spring, and back into winter again. The sun shines, the wind blows, the pollen flies and the rain falls. You might have heard the saying, “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.”
