Football: Davie signs big D players

Once again, Bob Davie focused his recruiting efforts mainly on the defensive side of the ball — specifically on defensive linemen. The head coach of New Mexico football signed 26 players for the 2014 recruiting class, six of whom are defensive linemen.

Baseball: New roster may balance team

Head coach Ray Birmingham does not have many worries about this year’s New Mexico baseball team. One of them, however, is that UNM is lacking experience across the board with the loss of five positional players and six pitchers. Seven of those players were taken in the 2013 MLB Draft.

Men's Basketball: Lobos topple Wyoming in overtime, again

One overtime game between New Mexico and Wyoming weren’t enough. They needed a second in their return game Wednesday night at The Pit. Women's Basketball: Win streak in the works

Tight games have not been going in favor of the New Mexico women’s basketball team as of late, but a three-point victory over San Jose State proved that UNM can still win nail biters. The Lobos have struggled in close games during Mountain West play, losing four of their last five games that were decided by two possessions or less.

Women's Basketball: Pit hosts howling defeat

It seems that when the New Mexico women’s basket ball team most needs a score, the Lobos are least able come up with one. A late seven point-lead wasn’t enough of a cushion for UNM as Colorado State managed to get key buckets down the stretch that UNM could not answer.

For the first time in 51 games, redshirt junior center Alex Kirk was not in his usual starting position. Instead, the men’s basketball starting center was sitting on the New Mexico bench in street clothes, wearing a protective boot over his injured left leg.
