COMMENTARY: Lobos don’t need a bowl to savor football season

There’s still a chance for the New Mexico football team to make a bowl game this year — it’s just not a favorable one. Sitting at 2-5 and coming off one of its worst performances in the Bob Davie era — a 45-10 shellacking by Utah State on Oct. 19 — the team’s chances are about as good as the odds of Congress agreeing on what to do with the government.
