Men's tennis grabs win after losing two

The UNM men's tennis team was one loss away from dropping all three of its matches this weekend, but pulled out a 4-3 win against the University of Nevada-Las Vegas on Sunday, after losing Friday and Saturday.

Falcons can't match slugfest

The UNM baseball team put on an offensive showcase Thursday en route to a doubleheader sweep of Air Force Academy. The Lobos dominated the first game 23-11 before slugging their way to a 24-3 victory in the second game.

Softball drops 2 to BYU

The UNM softball team came two runs short of staging a nine-run comeback Thursday at Lobo Field. The Lobos lost the second game of a doubleheader 12-10 against the Brigham Young University Cougars after dropping the first game 11-1.

Singles play saves women's match

The No. 40-ranked UNM women's tennis team lost its first match in the Mountain West Conference and fourth overall Saturday against Brigham Young University.

Lobos snag 1st MWC win

The UNM men's tennis team faced off against Air Force on Saturday and left with its first win in Mountain West Conference play. No. 74 New Mexico (10-6, 1-2 MWC) defeated Air Force (11-7, 0-3 MWC) 6-1 on Senior Day.

Freshman's arm a weapon at meet

Freshman Anthony Fairbanks has not taken long to prove he can compete at the collegiate level. At this weekend's Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Fairbanks finished second out of 18 with a throw of 210-9. The throw was his farthest of the season, and bested his NCAA regional qualifying mark of 206-4.

Diver surprised by silver

Ex-UNM diver Becca Barras didn't expect to get a chance to compete at the Commonwealth Games. That's why the silver medal she won in the synchronized 3-meter springboard at the event in Melbourne, Australia, came as such a surprise.
