Long was a standout player for UNM from 1969-71, winning Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 1971 and MVP of the team all three years he played quarterback.

The score was far from indicative of the fight the Lobos put up against a Purdue team that made it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament last season.
Lobo forward leads team past Skyhawks
August 30by Riley Bauling Daily Lobo The UNM men's soccer team remained undefeated in its exhibition schedule with a 1-0 win against the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks on Saturday night. The Lobos peppered the Skyhawks' goal, outshooting them 14-4 before freshman Blake Danaher, Texas Gatorade Player of the Year, scored the game winner in the 74th minute.
Lobos nip 'Cats in opener

After a scoreless first half, the Lobos didn't take long to strike after intermission. In the 53rd minute, freshman Jordan Johnson headed in a corner kick from sophomore Eryn Paetz to get the Lobos on the board.
Moore in store for UNM

Moore's name added to notable list

The country's fourth-oldest individual college football award, the Walter Camp Award is given to the foundation's choice as Player of the Year. August 23Staff Report UNM center fielder Matt Young was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2004 Texas Collegiate League championship series after leading the Coppell Copperheads to the league title. A Lobo senior this year, Young went 2-for-5 with a run scored in the deciding game of the championship series, where the Copperheads beat the Graham Roughnecks.
