The Lobo men opened Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play with a win over San Diego State University while the women salvaged its weekend Mountain West Conference set with a tie versus the nationally ranked University of Utah.

UNM running back DonTrell Moore and the women's soccer defensive unit are this week's Daily Lobo Athletes of the Week. Moore had the best performance of his career on Saturday against Utah State in a 45-44 loss to the Aggies.
