But I would like to tell Republicans not to cry - many major polls suggest this year's election was not a vote for Democrats, but a vote against the war, a vote against Mark Foley and a vote against Republicans not acting like Republicans.
UNM lost about $672,000 because of a tuition discount meant to boost summer enrollment, said Curtis Porter, associate vice president of budget, planning and analysis. The discount, introduced last summer, made summer tuition 15 percent cheaper than normal tuition.
Lobo guard J.R. Giddens flexed his muscles after a powerful second-half dunk and so did the UNM men's basketball team in a blowout win over Colorado on Tuesday. The Lobos improved to 3-0, with a 106-65 victory over the Buffaloes. UNM head coach Ritchie McKay said the Lobos are playing their way back to national recognition. Every semester, ASUNM candidates outline their goals for the student government. They write letters to the Daily Lobo, set up tables outside the SUB and talk about their goals at public forums. The PAC slate's goals are to stabilize tuition costs, increase funding for student organizations and get more internships for students.
