Competition lets lobo fly

We all know that wolves can howl. But they might be able to fly, too. Albuquerque will be represented at Red Bull Flugtag Arizona in Tempe on Saturday by the team El Vuelo Del Lobo, which has built a flying apparatus in the shape of a wolf.

Letter: Smokers are blinded by their deadly addiction

John Bear has a lot of nerve. His name-calling and threats against those of us working for a smoke-free campus prove how intensely his addiction controls him. Judging by the 200-signature - and rising - petition for a smoke-free campus, with names of students, staff and faculty, we nonsmokers are a tightly-wound group as well, but not the terrorist faction Bear accuses us of being.

Column: Ugly side of development

Ah, the real benefits of development. In central India, civil rights leaders are refusing to eat until the Indian government listens to its people. Those who have not eaten in about a month are being supported only by the cries of thousands of university students, union leaders and others.
