Postseason facial hair has begun to grow for many New Mexico players, but a massive series against Air Force looms to shape how the postseason will be played out. In UNM’s last series of the regular season, the Lobos will have to garner a sweep, for a shot at a piece of the conference crown and the number one seed in the Mountain West Tournament.

The University of New Mexico Lobos Men’s Golf team season came to a dramatic end on Wednesday. Though the Lobos had an unfortunate Round 2, they began the day in sixth place and had a chance of punching a ticket to the National Championship Tournament at the end of the month in Eugene, Oregon.
The second round of the NCAA Regional Men’s Golf Championship was one that the Lobos Men’s golf team wishes it could have back. The Lobos started today six shots over-par and only eight shots back from the lead. Toward the end of yesterday’s round, the winds started to play a huge factor. Not just for the Lobos, but for the entire field. Today wasn’t any different.
For just the second time all season, the Lobos dropped a conference series and are now at risk of losing a share of the Mountain West crown. Even with a loss at UNLV on Sunday afternoon, the Fresno State Bulldogs will at least own part of the conference title, while UNM must fight for at least a piece of first after falling to Nevada 13-9 on Sunday.

In a text message sent to UNM students, staff and faculty, shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, the University warned of a "man with a gun" at the intersection of Yale Boulevard and Central Avenue with a white polo, dark pants and blue backpack. New Mexico’s softball season ended on a sour note, being swept in the final three games of the 2016 campaign. The Lobos were within spitting distance of finishing .500, but after dropping seven of the team’s last eight contests, those aspirations were squashed.

Social Security isn’t something UNM students think about often, but it's vital to their future and in danger of being cut. DeAnza Valencia-Sapien, associate state director of advocacy at AARP, said if no congressional action is taken, Social Security benefits will have to be cut by 25 percent after 2034.
Society has no business blaming a painkiller-prescribing doctor for an already-addicted patient’s death. Any doctor, out of his professional compassion and duty, is going to place pain management first, and is not expected to know a whole lot about the usual patient presenting, in particular if the patient is an addict. Besides, where does a prescribing standard leave off and “over-prescribing" begin for agonizing, unrelenting pain?
There are countless memes about broke college students, but there are also countless perks that many students are not aware of. The LoboPerks program is a partnership between the UNM community and businesses at local and national levels. The purpose of the program is to acquire discounts for individuals connected to the University.
It was suggested I write in to explain why I am leaving UNM for UCCS this coming fall. It came to my attention that the UNM president has been less than agreeable when it comes to how assault, rape and other forms of violence are being handled. So, in an attempt to show that everything is not "okay" and "fine" here, let me tell you why I am leaving UNM.
In reading some of the recent letters regarding UNM's seal, I cannot help but wonder how our students and faculty have arrived at the conclusion it is racist. If it were, the seal would be advocating for the superiority of Western culture above all others. The seal does not does not do so in any way, shape or form. A frontiersman and a conquistador, in and of themselves, are not racist symbols. They simply are what they are. No more, and no less.
Students often have a difficult time finding where they can perform perhaps the most important activity linked to achieving success - study. One of the challenges to finding a good spot to study is linked to students having different preferences. Some of the more obvious study spots are libraries, where reserving a study room could be a good option.
