Editor, Those instituting radical change must have outsiders to demonize: called “enemies of the people” by Robespierre during the French Revolution, “kulaks” by the Soviets, and “sufan“ by the Communist Chinese.
Editor, I am writing to request a small amendment to the online article, “Childlessness helps marriage last,” by Jason Darensburg.
Editor, Just a few decades ago, the media in this country seemed to be trying to keep us informed of all sides on all the issues, so that we could make our own informed decisions.
Editor, Why does everyone pay a recycling fee on their water bill? I was reviewing my water bill and noticed that I am being charged a recycling fee and I don’t get recycling services.
Editor, With humility, I am writing this letter to express deep and sincere regret of the situation involving my son, Arnold Woods.
Editor, As an alumnus of UNM, I need to respond to the inane article published in the Daily Lobo on Nov. 8, ““UNM group condemns (un)Occupy at teach-in.”
I am a female UNM student. I also happen to ride my longboard around from time to time. It is much easier to do so during the summer semester because there are fewer people around to clog the sidewalks and to take ransom.
Editor, Are most college graduates better world citizens than minimum-wage U.S. workers who never finished high school? No! Most college graduates consume far more, pollute far more, travel far more, cause far more global climate chaos and pay far more federal income tax to wage war! When Gandhi was asked what worried him most, he replied, “the hardness of heart of the educated.” I do not want a bigger slice of the U.S.
Editor, I’d like to thank Donald Gluck and the UNM Republicans. They made it clear at the SUB teach-in that many conservative Republicans on campus think the (un)Occupy movement is “awful,” and that occupation for free speech, after a period of five weeks, must end.
Editor, As we focus our attention on creating jobs, we should acknowledge an important resource that can further our efforts to employ residents here in New Mexico.
Editor, I am, to say the least, a little perturbed at Lawrence Allen’s letter in Monday’s paper.
Editor, I just read a letter to the editor in which the writer sought to put down the biblical view that peace on earth cannot happen without the return of Christ.
Editor, I would like to share my experience with trying to receive unemployment benefits from the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions.
Editor, I totally agree with graduate student David Luna. Please, let’s not have any more letters by this Burbank or whoever it is who pretends to be Burbank.
Editor, I read with great interest professor Burbank’s piece concerning the proper method for dealing with the (un)Occupy protesters (curious how it always comes back to the world government of the United Nations whenever you’re dealing with anarchists, isn’t it?) Burbank is right on when he suggests that something must be done with these detestable vermin.
Editor, It was humorous to see how Amy Dicketts, an exchange student from Britain, viewed American cuisine in Tuesday’s Daily Lobo, especially considering the strong negative feelings Americans have toward British cuisine.
Editor, Stay classy, Lobo. Nice job publishing a letter that endorses the murder of protesters, not just here on campus but nationwide. I supported the protesters’ right to rally on campus.
Editor, I am deeply disappointed that the Student Fee Review Board members voted unanimously to decrease the number of graduate student members on the SFRB.
Editor, I noticed this morning that the “controversies” section of President Schmidly’s Wikipedia page has been updated to include recent events surrounding the (un)Occupy Albuquerque movement.
