Flooding Popejoy with gospel song

UNM choirs are mixing ancient texts with modern music in a performance called Gospel Mass and Gospel Magnificat. Music professor Bradley Ellingboe prepared the women's choir and University chorus to perform two pieces composed by UNM's composer-in-residence Robert Ray from the University of Missouri.

American-Indian paper in progress

Student Patrick Willink sat behind a laptop computer drinking coffee without taking his eyes off the screen Monday. Willink said he has designed posters and fliers before, but he has never designed a newspaper. The transition is a bit stressful, he said.

Recounting real-life 'Hotel Rwanda'

A man who inspired the Oscar-winning film, "Hotel Rwanda" came to UNM on Saturday. Paul Rusesabagina, who was depicted in the film, came to campus to speak about the Rwandan genocide in the '90s.

C&J hosts renovation celebration

Due to a lack of space in the communication and journalism building, teaching assistant Ruben Ramirez said instructors have been forced to move public speaking classes to Mitchell Hall.

MWC leaders crush UNM

The UNM softball team was unable to pull out a victory in the final home series of the season Sunday. The Lobos were swept by San Diego State in a doubleheader at Lobo Field and fell to 21-25 overall, 2-12 in the Mountain West Conference. SDSU improves to 27-8 overall and 12-0 in the MWC, best in the conference.

Working to eliminate rookie label

Brandon Moss doesn't have any trouble remembering how blissful college soccer was now that he's a professional. If the ex-UNM men's soccer player made a mistake playing for the Lobos, it was no big deal, Moss said. As captain he led the Lobos to the NCAA National Championships.

UNM sweeps three-game series

Zach Arnett might have had a few reasons to wait until Sunday to hit his first home run. Maybe it took the true freshman a few months to transition from playing as a linebacker on the UNM football team to hitting a baseball.
