Amsterdam band demands beer

by Maria Staiano-Daniels Daily Lobo Every rumor you've ever heard about Amsterdam is true, said Hajo de Reijger, drummer of the band Blues Brother Castro. The band, which calls Amsterdam home, arrives in Albuquerque on Wednesday as part of its first North American tour.

Letter: Bush supporters voted to restrict freedoms

Editor, In response to Rebekah Casey's letter in Monday's Daily Lobo: Irony of ironies, President Bush didn't have a plurality when he was initially elected to office. I'll grant you he won the popular vote in the last election, but let's also be fair about one thing - the conflict in Iraq wasn't the only issue for which people were casting their ballots.

Actors shine in dark comedy

In return she can do the dishes once in a while. It's a win-win situation. Damage done by skaters declines

by Christopher Sanchez Daily Lobo UNM Physical Plant spent more than $5,000 last year repairing building damages created by skateboarders. Joel Straquadine, manager of facilities maintenance, said that money could be used for better things, like repairs and paint jobs to old buildings.

Comedian gives 'super finger' to fans

He calls it the "super finger" and it has two meanings. "This week, the 'feel the love mode' is for my fans and my continued success," Cook said.

Aiming to help United Way

by Annette Herrera Daily Lobo The UNM Young Leaders' Society and UNM President Louis Caldera encouraged faculty and staff to donate to United Way at a brown bag lunch at the SUB on Monday. Caldera said faculty and staff could support United Way through a one-time annual donation or a monthly payroll deduction.

He was calling undecided voters on Monday trying to sway their decision for today's election. Architect accepts alumni award

Tennis duo's ties began in Croatia

by Steven Fernandez Daily Lobo UNM tennis players Iva Gersic and Maja Kovacek are the No. 3-ranked doubles team in the country. However, their success and friendship dates back to when neither had set foot in this country. Kovacek, a senior, came to UNM from Croatia on a scholarship for the 2002-2003 season.
