"Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones" opened May 16 to the expected record sales and criticism. Since the release of "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace," the Star Wars franchise, headed by award-winning director George Lucas, has come under intense scrutiny by both fans and critics.

"American Waitress, New Mexico" is making its premier in Albuquerque on June 1 at The Guild Theater. The event is being sponsored by the Santa Fe Film Festival. "American Waitress, New Mexico" is a documentary film set in Albuquerque that examines the experiences and attitudes of waitresses, while simultaneously commenting on social structures, power dynamics, and human nature.

UNM is expected to confer 2,578 degrees during its spring commencement ceremony, which will include a speech by Rhodes Scholar and bachelor's degree candidate John Probasco, Saturday at 9 a.m. in University Arena.

The winds are blowing for lostprophets guitarist Mike Lewis. Actually they were blowing against him, as the 20-something Welshman's voice was often obscured by the rushing winds outside the Houston venue the band prepared to play last Wednesday.

LETTER: Corporations not chaste

Editor, Mr. Carrasco, I don't think that it's so much a situation of innocent nÑive corporations gleefully working their day away to get money while people hurl accusations of vast control. I think what scares people a lot of times is the legal power (or perhaps immunity and abuse thereof) that corporations have.
