Queer-Straight Alliance Advocacy Chair Johny Golightly said that universal restrooms on campus are a basic student right. “When we’re using the bathroom, we’re really vulnerable,” he said. “We should all be free to pee. We should have this safe space where we could relieve ourselves.

Men's Basketball: SDSU edges out UNM for MW title

SAN DIEGO — A monumental collapse dropped the New Mexico men’s basketball team into the No. 2 seed for next week’s Mountain West Basketball Championships. The Lobos let a 16-point lead slip away at Viejas Arena in San Diego on Saturday, and San Diego State rallied for a 51-48 victory in the regular-season finale.

Regents considering new tuition policies

The UNM Board of Regents will hear about a potential new tuition model today that could help students dodge tuition increases. In an email sent to the Daily Lobo, Regent Bradley Hosmer said the UNM Board of Regents requested a guaranteed tuition model so students can pay a slightly higher, guaranteed amount for tuition each year.

Softball: Lobos capture first series sweep, drop Detroit

Home games have provided a luxurious safe-haven for the New Mexico softball team after a horrific start to the season. UNM (7-14) completed its first sweep of the season and has won six of their last seven games at Lobo Field. Head coach Erica Beach said that coming home has done wonders to get the team back into the mentality that they need.

UNMH running at a loss

Seven months into fiscal year 2014, financial loss at the Sandoval Regional Medical Center remains steady at $5 million. SRMC’s loss has stayed at that amount since the first quarter of this fiscal year, UNM Hospital CEO Steve McKernan said in a report at a UNMH Board of Directors meeting Friday.

Letter: Cow's milk is not meant for human consumption

Editor, Cow’s milk is for baby cows, human milk is for baby humans. Animals in the wild do not drink the milk of a different kind of animal. No adult animal in the world drinks milk. Just as all animals are not alike, the milk from cows, goats, pigs and humans is not alike.

A monumental collapse dropped the New Mexico men’s basketball team into the No. 2 seed for next week’s Mountain West Basketball Championships. The Lobos let a 16-point lead slip away at Viejas Arena in San Diego on Saturday, and San Diego State rallied for a 51-48 victory in the regular-season finale. UNM had won the last two MW regular-season crowns, including a share with SDSU in 2012.
