With sports, the media heed your demands

I considered the logic in Vanessa Strobbe's column Tuesday about why the media fail to provide adequate coverage of "secondary" sports. I allowed it to stew, and I came to a conclusion: This isn't a chicken-or-egg question. When it boils down to it, it is a question of dollars and cents.

UNM Wi-Fi problems not yet solved

UNM's expansion of its wireless Internet network has had problems since classes began, and they won't stop anytime soon. During the first week of school, the network was overwhelmed by mobile devices like iPhones, which constantly try to connect to wireless networks, said Paula Loendorf, the director of Communications Network Services.

Freshman John Bundy wanted to join Kappa Upsilon Chi, a Christian fraternity on campus. But he was denied admission because he is Mormon. "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" fails to live up to George Lucas' legacy.

'Clone Wars' another Lucas film flop

I have to admit, I purposely avoided "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" when it was released. As it turns out, it was for the best. In essence, George Lucas has been both the creator and the destroyer of the Star Wars franchise. He created Star Wars. He made it famous back in the late '70s.

Two-party system forces voters to choose lesser evil

Editor, This letter is in response to Michelle Obama's letter printed in the Sept. 6 edition of the Daily Lobo. I'll preface this by saying I am a registered Democrat and a sophomore here at UNM who fully intends to vote in the upcoming election. I found many of the things Obama said to be moving and something of an eye opener for me.

Single-issue voting for abortion means compromising on all else

Editor, As a graduate of UNM, I often like to revisit the opinion pages of the Daily Lobo Web site to get a sense of the politics on campus. I did so today, and the irony of the running discussion is inescapable. The prevailing topic in a string of letters to the editor is abortion, closely seconded by Sen.
