Knudsen's involvement with Student Voices proves ability

Editor, Some people might think the GPSA election is not important, and therefore, campaign reporting in this election is pointless.
Editor, As a graduate student in statistics at UNM, I was glad to see Monday’s Albuquerque Journal article about the dire situation our program faces. The more coverage of this under-reported problem, the better.
Editor, If you have had an internship before, you know what a valuable learning experience it can be.
Editor, To Andrew Beale: As an American, you are free to express your opinion. However, if you are going to criticize the United States, you should get your facts straight, especially as a journalist.
Editor, So the Tea Baggers are against government spending on health care and social programs. Perhaps at their next protest gathering they would all be willing to sign a form waiving all future social security and Medicare benefits?
Editor, Recently, UNM denied the workers at Mitchell Hall’s Outtakes to collect tips or have a “take a penny.” I was told that UNM couldn’t get 20 percent of the money and therefore the workers can’t keep the tips.
Editor, In today’s GPSA vote there were multiple amendments to the constitution and bylaws. I feel it was unfortunate the current GPSA president and council chair did not clearly outline these amendments prior to the vote.
Editor, As I was driving up Menaul Boulevard Thursday evening, I realized traffic was moving slower than usual, and as I got closer to the Louisiana intersection, cars in the right lane were blocking traffic by cheering and honking at protesters holding sings depicting our current president as some sort of fascist and a monster.
Editor, This letter is in reference to the last Doing It In The Duke City column, by Hunter Riley. Though Ms. Riley organizes and expresses her thoughts very well, her advice to women, “it’s time to let go of your porn inhibitions,” is stunningly immature and myopic.
Editor, I am writing in support of Andrew Beale’s recent column. Regardless of the details of the engagement that killed the two Reuters photographers, his overall point stands.
Editor, Andrew Beale’s last column is ill-informed, offensive and idiotic. He claims that the “United States government is the largest terrorist organization operating today,” but fails to even bother fact checking before he published.
Editor, I am writing on behalf of myself and the GPSA Elections Committee to apologize for mis-listing Martín Gutíerrez’s name as “Martinez” in recent ads.
Editor, I was pleasantly surprised to see that UNM is cutting two vice-president positions to save costs.
Editor, The law school wants to secede from the union. It reminds me of the teabaggers holding signs with misspelled racial slurs while they yell, “Tell the government to keep their hands off my Medicaid.” Teabaggers do not know that the government program they benefit from is Medicare, and the leaders of the law school secession movement don’t understand they are supporting policies that destroyed the math department. There is speculation that the regents are behind the law school’s actions.
I studied in China for about three years and spent four semesters in the U.S. When I was a college student in China, I remembered my professors always warned us how hard it was going to be to get a job.
The United States government is the largest terrorist organization operating today. As if we needed more proof of this fact, underground media site Wikileaks.org recently posted a video of U.S.
Editor, The GPSA President and Council Chair forum on Monday was a new beginning in GPSA. The forum was structured, fair and well moderated.
Editor, On April 8, the Daily Lobo ran the article “ASUNM candidates stress sustainability, safety” and we felt it was our duty as the current ASUNM Chair and Vice Chair for the Outreach and Appointment Committee to inform the student body of the things ASUNM has been working on for the past academic year. The ASUNM Senate has made great progress in building a coalition between the Office of Sustainability, UNM Recycling and the Sustainability Studies Program.
Editor, I’m a member of UNM’s chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy, and as such, it’s one of my primary objectives to adequately inform students and faculty about the issues of drugs, the laws surrounding them and their impact on our world. It makes sense that New Mexico has a drug problem.
