N.M. music magazine celebrates first year

A venture benefiting local music is on the verge of celebrating its one-year anniversary, and many people are still not aware of its existence. Perhaps this is because it's not a place you can go to, but something you could carry in your pocket -- an all-local music magazine called Transmission.

Popular pub to get new look, life

Many at UNM may not have noticed the quiet closure of Sprockets Pub, a bar across Central Avenue from UNM last summer. However, many have surely noticed the current gutting of the former popular student bar at 2216 Central Ave. SE. The location, which was the Fat Chance Bar & Grill before being rechristened Sprockets, is now being converted into a new bar and restaurant that has not yet been named.

Band is Chronic chamleon, musically

Lately, no matter which calendar of events I look at, the name Chronic Logic seems to be popping up at most venues around town. From Club Rhythm and Blues to the Launchpad to Sonny's, these guys are everywhere - and rightfully so. It would amaze most who have heard them to learn that Chronic Logic has only been playing together since February.

‘Sundaze’ a house experience

Many of you have probably already seen the little fliers floating around that say “Sundaze; A Deep House Experience.” For those of you who have not, it’s time you learned what they are for. Sundaze was created in May by Christalyn Concha, who graduated from UNM in spring 2001.
