Fresh goalie gives Ice Wolves drive

by Travis Weber Daily Lobo The UNM Ice Wolves earned a hard-fought split over the weekend against the Arizona State Sun Devils in their first home games of the spring season. The Ice Wolves took the momentum from their 6-1 win in the finals over the Sun Devils of the Dallas Cup last weekend into Friday's game against ASU.

by Travis Weber Daily Lobo Texas Tech couldn't completely spoil the first home games of the season for the UNM Ice Wolves. The two teams split games, with Texas Tech winning the first one 12-11 on Friday night and UNM taking the second 6-3 on Saturday night.

Ice Wolves glad to be home

by Travis Weber Daily Lobo The last three games of the UNM Ice Wolves' eight-game road trip didn't quite go the way they wanted. The team lost two out of three games last week in Utah after starting the season 4-1 for the first time in its history. The Ice Wolves dropped their first game last Thursday night to Utah Valley State 7-4.

Hockey team to break the ice

by Travis Weber Daily Lobo It's hockey season in New Mexico again, and with the absence of the Scorpions this year, members of the UNM Ice Wolves said they want to take center stage. "We really want to be successful so that we can build the program, and so that we can draw some crowds to our home games this year, since we will be the biggest hockey ticket in town," head coach Joel Cormier said.

Men's golf takes on new leader

by Travis Weber Daily Lobo Coming off its most successful season since the late '70s and a fifth-place finish in the NCAA Championships, the UNM men's golf team will look to senior Jay Choi to lead it. The team will take on an entirely new makeup this year after suffering the loss of three major players and the assistant coach.

Ultimate Frisbee team lets fun fly

Hantavirus is a deadly disease, but to a small group of students at UNM, it is also a passion. That's because it's the name of UNM's Ultimate Frisbee club team. It is likely you have seen Hantavirus around campus - all you have to do is go by Johnson Field most weekday afternoons to see team members practice.

Seniors dominate final match

The meet was already in hand Sunday, with UNM leading the Santa Clara Broncos 4-1, but seniors David Kowalski and Ryan Stotland still had the Lobos' last two matches to wrap up. It was a fitting end to their Lobo careers. Kowalski and Stotland had all the attention.

Seeing doubles; duo ranked fourth

College sports can be about friendship as much as competition. Take senior men's tennis players Ryan Stotland and David Kowalski. Stotland and Kowalski are teammates and roommates. Together they are having two of the most successful tennis careers UNM has ever seen.
