Editor, In the early morning of Nov. 11, 2007, I woke up far away from the United States in the Middle East country of Kuwait. I quietly walked through the lines and rows of hundreds of olive drab cots where my fellow combat soldiers still slept.

Transfer process isn’t arduous for everyone

Editor, On Oct. 22, Antonio Sanchez published an article in the Daily Lobo citing difficulties some UNM transfer students have encountered. Sanchez reported there are 1,300 undergraduate transfer students attending UNM this fall. I am one of those 1,300 transfer students.

UNM men’s soccer gets shot at revenge

Air Force handed UNM its only two soccer losses in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play this year. The Lobos get another crack at the Falcons on Sunday. No. 1 seed UNM advanced to Sunday’s MPSF tournament championship with a 3-0 victory over No. 4 Denver University on Friday night. Earlier in the day, No. 3 Air Force captured a 2-1 double-overtime decision over No. 2 Cal State Bakersfield.

Mercury’s retrograde forebodes national ills

Mercury entered retrograde motion on Election Day, and if you’re an astrology freak like me, you understand the significance. I dread these periods because it means sluggishness, slow progress, even setbacks. Despite the fact that I subscribe to this pseudoscience, I prefer logic, right and wrong.
