Season can go either way

Consistency hasn’t been the mantra for the UNM women’s basketball team during MWC play. Since the start of conference action Jan. 9, the Lobos have alternated losses with victories and will continue that pattern if they manage to defeat Nevada today and Air Force on Saturday.

Alford suspends ‘D-Walk’

New Mexico junior guard Demetrius Walker has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules, head coach Steve Alford announced Monday at his weekly press conference.

The UNM baseball team dropped two games at Nebraska over the weekend. The Lobos’ first game versus the Cornhuskers on Friday was canceled due to inclement weather.

The No. 14 New Mexico men fared much better the second time around against San Diego State than during their previous matchup, capturing a 70-60 victory over the Aztecs Wednesday night at The Pit.

Lobos pummel Rams 71-56

Going into Saturday, the New Mexico women’s basketball team had not lost to Colorado State in The Pit since Jan. 6, 1998. The Lobos continued that record with a 71-56 trouncing over the Rams on Saturday.
