Opener against UTSA will test underclassmen

To say that the New Mexico football team is antsy to play its first game of the season would be an understatement. The Lobos officially begin the season this Saturday against the University of Texas-San Antonio at University Stadium. However, for senior center Dillon Farrell, it won’t be his first time facing the Roadrunners.

The three candidates in Albuquerque’s race for mayor — incumbent Republican Richard Berry, Democratic challenger Pete Dinelli and Republican challenger Paul Hey — participated in a forum today at the Albuquerque Marriott. GPSA chief wants better involvement

This year, UNM’s graduate student government will work to connect to students with their campus organizations in more ways. At this semester’s first meeting of the Graduate and Professional Student Association held Saturday morning, President Priscila Poliana said the organization will strive to bridge the gap between the association and UNM students.

Cassie Ulrich didn’t expect to walk into a firing zone. The sophomore goalie for the New Mexico women’s soccer team made seven saves against Texas Tech, but her efforts didn’t save the Lobos from losing their home opener 1-0 on Friday night.

Number of int’l. students up 9%

Pablo Galarza, business major, came to UNM from his home nation Ecuador wanting to play soccer with the Lobos. But Galarza said he hopes to gain more than just goal kicks from his time in the United States.
