Alumnae overcome by budding Lobo lineup

The New Mexico volleyball team starts its new season Friday in a matchup in Arkansas. Yet many of the players have already competed against each other in local high school matches and throughout their years in club volleyball.

Volleyball beats Boise State

Oppenheim assistantsports@dailylobo.com Freshman Alijah Gunsaulus had a career-high 20 kills, including the match winner, to help the UNM volleyball team beat Boise State 3-2 on Thursday night at The Pit. The win snaps a two-match MWC losing streak for the Lobos (16-4, 3-2). Gunsaulus also had 14 digs and was one of three Lobos with double-doubles.

Bench keeps loss close despite Rhoades’ injury

The third time failed to be charming for the volleyball team. The Lobos fell in their third encounter against the Wyoming Cowgirls in four sets, 23-25, 25-27, 25-20 and 21-25, in the first round of the MWC tournament Friday night at Johnson Center.
