A male pedestrian rumored to be a UNM student was killed by a pick-up truck at 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Silver Avenue and Princeton Drive today, APD Public Information Officer Tasia Martinez confirmed. A silver Dodge Ram 1500 jumped the curb and straddled the fence at a corner house on Silver Avenue. Pieces of clothing were strewn about the sidewalk behind the car. Silver Avenue was taped off from Princeton Drive to Stanford Drive. An APD officer said no further information would be released immediately about the victim, police are investigating whether the driver was experiencing a medical episode or was intoxicated when the incident occurred. Martinez said the victim was pronounced dead at UNMH. More on this story as it develops.
