Aug. 16 UNM police officers were dispatched to Tucker Avenue and Yale Boulevard in response to vandalism. According to the police report, the woman who reported the vandalism saw the passenger of a black truck get out and break the window of a car. According to the report, the owner of the car said nothing was missing.

High Tech High got off to a smooth start - mostly. Editor, Larry Walsh's letter published in Monday's Daily Lobo makes a valid point about reading contracts: oral promises mean nothing, and you should read and understand a contract before signing, especially when you're signing up for the military. However, he loses it in the final sentence, saying that criticism of recruitment tactics is criticism of the military, and that in a time of war, it is treason.
At 3 p.m. Tuesday there were about 10 people waiting in line at Zimmerman Library - and not to check out books. Zimmerman opened a Starbucks coffee shop in its lobby Monday. It's the first Starbucks to open in a university library in the country. Store manager Elizabeth Clark said the store had been busy since it opened.

by Scott Albright Daily Lobo On Saturday the Silver Board Shop held its Silver Skate Jam '05, which consisted of skateboarding, live music, break dancing, art and concession stands. Silver Avenue was blocked off between Harvard and Yale so skaters could have the freedom to ride the ramps and rails that were placed outside the shop without having vehicles impede their riding.
