Senior Jeff Rowland scored the game-winning goal in the 91st minute for the No. 2-seeded Lobos against 15th-seeded California State-Northridge, and immediately tore his jersey and undershirt off before being mobbed on the field by some of the record 4,849 fans who attended the game.

The Lobos were the seventh seed in the tournament while Colorado State was the second seed. The Rams are the two-time defending conference champions and will move on to the semifinals.
Staff Report The UNM ski team got its season going this weekend, competing at the FIS Super Tour World Cup. The Lobos traveled to West Yellowstone, Mont., for the event and got a glimpse of what the team will look like this season. Junior Dirk Grimm placed fifth in the men's 12-kilometer freestyle event.
