Editor, As a frequent contributor to this opinion page, my favorite target has been Gary Johnson. When Johnson leaves office, I want every New Mexican to remember the antics, failures, dissension and havoc this governor created and then never elect another "non-politician." It takes more than a slogan like "People Before Politics" to be an effective public servant.

Karni's version of history a nationalistic myth

Editor, Shlomo Karni's letter in the Sept. 7th issue of the Daily Lobo begins with, "Let us set aside, for the moment, all the polemics and concentrate on facts." He then proceeds to give a "history" long discredited, even by Israeli historians, although some schools in Israel are beginning again to teach nationalistic myth as fact. Israel's early leaders, including David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin, made it clear that the partition of Palestine was unacceptable and that every scrap of "Eretz Yisrael" must be Jewish - all the way to the Euphrates.

Lubbock, Texas - Lack of consistency on offense and the Lobo defense giving up numerous big plays was a recipe for disaster for the UNM football team as it lost to Texas Tech University 42-30 Saturday.
