The University of New Mexico boasts the motto "Everyone's a Lobo!" - and by everyone, it means only football and basketball players. The distribution of funds among the 19 varsity sports at UNM is uneven. In fact, few sports receive full benefits. The athletic administration demands sportsmanship and fairness of its UNM athletes on the field, but it can't seem to demonstrate the same accountability from its office.
Editor, In response to Jean Aragon's letter in Thursday's Daily Lobo, I could not agree more, and I would like to commend Aragon. The fact of the matter is, if there were an active shooter on campus, it would take precious minutes to notify the police and even more time for them to respond.

In printing the results of the April 13-20 poll asking if you supported UNM building another recreation center, the results were flipped. The results should have read 71 percent said no and 29 percent said yes. The error was made in layout.
Editor, I am writing this letter in response to numerous published editorials perpetuating the spread of misinformation on campus regarding the building of another recreation center. As it currently stands, Johnson Center is inadequate for just about any form of physical exercise outside of basketball.
Eight student organizations are teaming up today to educate students on human injustices in Darfur. The UNM community is invited to participate in Darfur Awareness Day from noon to 3 p.m. in Cornell Mall.
