Letter: Less freedom to choose will make U.S. similar to UK

Editor, I was amused and alarmed by Steve Durant's letter regarding America's misguided emphasis on individual freedom of choice. He is indeed the paternalistic product of a unitary, socialist government, watching us young colonial children at irresponsible play.

School of Engineering breaks ground for funds

Students, faculty and alumni watched as a Komatsu trackhoe began tearing away at the southeast corner of land near Wagner Hall on Wednesday. The groundbreaking took place where the Centennial Engineering Center will be built later this year. It was part of a fundraiser to fund the contruction of the center.

Elections wrap up for GPSA leadership slot

Star cast can't elevate boring film

One is to remake an old flick based on the assumption that the current generation is too young to remember the original. Letter: It's pointless to impeach Republicans' puppet

Editor, Impeach George Bush? That's kind of like a sick joke. It would take longer to push the paperwork through the system than he has left in office. Most of the people who are in a position to impeach him are his sycophants. Any Republican who voted to impeach would be politically doomed, whatever the outcome.

UNM student Lanlan Wang said she began practicing Falun Dafa, a controversial type of Chinese meditation, in March 1998. A year later, she was kicked out of Tsinghua University in China.

Letter: Churches, archaic beliefs should be thrown out

It is interesting to see the Scientologists on campus again. Their "clearing" method is like Arthur Janov's primal therapy - memorialized by the band Tears for Fears in the 1980s. Primal therapy can cure a person of neurosis, but the Scientologists' theology looks pretty sketchy.
