It upheld the ban, which was not a surprise. But Judge Stephen Reinhardt, well known to be one of the nation's most proactive liberal judges, also produced for the case a 70-page dissertation on the Second Amendment.
With a recent visit from guest artist Yoshihirio Mizokami, the UNM Art Education Program continued its long-standing tradition in teaching traditional and contemporary methods of creating hand-made functional pottery. Mizokami, who is a stoneware potter working in the tradition of Karatsu, worked with students on a daily basis in the pottery studio during his three months at UNM, said Kathryne Cyman, art education instructor.

UNM Budget Director Curtis Porter addressed the ASUNM Senate Wednesday in a tuition forum to outline the University's stance on funding priorities and tuition credits. Porter said that students are often confused by the term tuition credit because it sounds as if the University is gaining revenue.

May Staff Recognition Awards were presented to Lucille Cordova, Carolyn Gonzales, Ray More, Susan Quintana and Carol Vollbrecht at a President's Office ceremony Wednesday.
UNM police and the Albuquerque Fire Department responded to a fire call at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house Nov. 27. Michael Koller, president of the fraternity, said members called University police and the fire department after they noticed smoke coming through the floor in the fraternity house at 1811 Mesa Vista Rd.
