April Fools’ loss avenged

The New Mexico baseball team’s focus wasn’t entirely on in-state rival New Mexico State on Wednesday. The Lobos managed to demolish the Aggies 13-6 on a blustery day at Lobo Field, even with a critical Mountain West Conference series at Nevada this weekend on their minds.

Individual talent has given the New Mexico women’s rugby team a chance at glory. The team is headed to Palo Alto, Calif., this weekend for the first round of the 2012-13 Emirates Airlines USA Rugby National Championships.

UNM men’s tennis head coach Alan Dils is a proponent of tough love. The Lobos suffered a close loss against UNLV at home Friday afternoon, leading the day 3-1 before losing the next three matches to fall 4-3 to the Rebels.

The UNM men’s golf team is on a roll heading into the final month of the season. The team started off a little slow in the fall, finishing fifth and seventh in its first two tournaments, respectively.
