Ahoy there, fellow schoolmaties. Welcome to a new school year at the UNM. Many times during the semester, people come into the newsroom or ask those who work here questions about the way the paper works. The crew at the Daily Lobo wanted to give our readers a fun and interesting look into the way the newspaper operates.
Daily Lobo: What is ASUNM? Brittany Jaeger: It's the undergraduate student government; it's comprised of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The executive branch is myself. I have a presidential aide, I have a webmaster, and then I also have seven executive agencies underneath me, which go from Craft Studio, Southwest Film Center, Lobo Spirit, Student Special Events, and the Lobby Committee.
Daily Lobo: Most students are not knowledgeable about the various roles of a UNM regent. To get a better understanding, can you describe the main function of the UNM Board of Regents? Sandra Begay-Campbell: Our main function is to oversee and implement policies that pertain to the University of New Mexico.

Staff Report Josh Jenkins has been suspended indefinitely from the UNM men's basketball team, head coach Ritchie McKay said in a statement issued July 27. Jenkins played one season at New Mexico State before transferring after the 2005 spring semester to UNM and joining the Lobos as a walk-on.
