'Unit 7' about music, not fame

Unit 7 Drain strives for originality. Lead singer/guitarist Harry Redus-Brown said that the band "is mostly about suppressed aggression, agitation, dissatisfaction and a sort of general disaffected feeling of most people who are intelligent enough to perceive what's going on around them.

Superstar cast give "Igby Down Under" Oscar edge

With a stellar cast, phenomenal writing, a score that exceeds all standards of what can be done with music in film and one of the strongest performances this year, "Igby Goes Down" should be a strong contender for all categories of the Academy Awards.

'Insomniac' showcases Attell's wit

Comedian Dave Attell, host of the Comedy Central TV show "Insomniac with Dave Attell," calls the show "'E!'s Wild On' for ugly people." I respectfully disagree. The show is more like the bar portions of "Blind Date" mixed with "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" and a lot of cheap beer.

Progressive, energetic step group Molodi take act to new level

The members of Molodi are feeling "pretty ambitious"-- at least that's how Juan Carlos Bagnell, one of the step dance group's founding members, describes the group's first full-length show at the Tricklock Theatre. Imagine, an hour or hour and a half in which most of the rhythms, music and energy are generated entirely by only six dancers bodies.

One of the first student-run organizations on campus, the ASA had a gallery since the early '70s in the basement of the old Student Union Building.

Classic film 'Metropolis' returns to the silver screen courtesy of Madstone

"Metropolis" is a visually stunning and aurally stimulating film made by Fritz Lang in 1927, and Madstone Theater is bringing it back in special showings. It is a silent film, with the exception of the beautiful orchestrations that are present throughout.

The last years of this "quiet Beatle" were apparently well-spent, writing and recording new music despite his ailments.
