Men's Basketball: Lobos will get either fourth, fifth or sixth seed for MW tourney

The Lobos’ Mountain West tournament scenarios are simple: should San Diego State beat UNLV, the outcome of Saturday’s New Mexico-Nevada contest will determine what colors those teams will wear in a rematch next week. UNM will finish either fourth, fifth or sixth in the Mountain West standings regardless of any other outcome in this weekend’s regular-season finale. As long as the Aztecs beat the Runnin’ Rebels, UNM and Nevada will jockey for the fourth or fifth seeds.

The Wyatts have been wasted

The WWE loves to distort reality. From stretching a wrestler’s physical dimensions to how devastating someone’s finisher is. This kind of talk has been the basis of wrestling since its inception. The problem is that some wrestlers who are to be perceived as a destructive force aren’t portrayed that way at all. One faction in particular has suffered greatly from this is the Wyatt Family.

Men's Basketball: Criticism affecting team's play, coach says

As criticism continues to mount against Craig Neal and the New Mexico Lobos, especially on this current four-game losing streak, the negativity seems to be taking its toll on player performance. Several players are active on Twitter, so it’s often difficult to avoid the comments, he said.

UNM shines light on brain trauma

The University of New Mexico’s Brain Injury Resource Center, or BIRC, held it’s first Unmasking Brain Injury event earlier this semester, meant to create awareness of brain trauma from first-hand accounts of afflicted individuals. Janelle Torres-Groover, a health educator with BIRC, said the center held a “mask making party”, and welcomed anyone in the community who had suffered a brain injury to make a mask. “The idea started with the Veterans Administration. They were doing this mask making project with veterans who were coming back from the war with brain injuries,” Torres-Groover said.

Treehouse basement stands out with its unique sound

As bands come and go throughout the indie scene, only a handful devise a unique sound and even less go on to make a name for themselves. Local rock band Treehouse Basement seem to be on the right path though, putting in effort to distance themselves from the rest. Armed with a conglomeration of musical influences spanning over 30 years, among various genres, Treehouse Basement truly bring something fresh to the table of rock.

Letter: Criticism over Senator's remarks is unwarranted

This letter is in response to the three letters from concerned students affiliated with various conservative student groups on campus that were published in the last printing, regarding the failure of Resolution 3S on the Senate floor on February 24. We are writing to state our support for Senator Cooper and to clarify the remarks for which he is so harshly being criticized. ASUNM Senators have a duty and responsibility to represent the students’ interests with mechanisms for communication that are in place through our senatorial responsibilities.

Letter: When Bernie fails, go Green

While I am sympathetic to the democratic socialism of Bernie Sanders, I do not believe that he will be the eventual Democratic presidential nominee. Sanders does have the support of many young voters, and young voters are about as reliable as drunkards. In the event that Sanders is eventually defeated by that darling of Wall Street and warmonger Hilary Clinton; I ask Sanders voters to consider supporting the presidential candidacy of Green Party's Jill Stein.

Letter: Terrorists don't support human rights when the source is the enemy

Four Air Force veterans, who officially operated U.S. drones assassinating people in other countries, have spoken out. They wrote to President Obama, “We came to the realization that the innocent civilians we were killing only fueled the feelings of hatred that ignited terrorism and groups like ISIS, while also serving as a fundamental recruitment tool similar to Guantanamo Bay. This administration and its predecessors have built a drone program that is one of the most devastating driving forces for terrorism and destabilization around the world.”
